August 2007
3 – 1847: Br. Louis, one of the first brothers in the Institute, died.
6 - 1858: The General House was relocated from the Hermitage to Saint-Genis-Laval.
9 – 1896: Introduction of the cause to declare Marcellin Champagnat Venerable.
12 – 1816: Fr. Champagnat was appointed parish priest in La Valla.
13 – 1816: Champagnat arrived at Lavalla to begin his priestly ministry.
15 – Feast of Mary’s Assumption into Heaven, Patronal feast of the Marist Institute; 1885: The first Marist Brothers set out for Canada; 2007: Launching of the Marcellink.
22 – Feast of the Queenship of Mary.
27 – 1936: Brother Crisanto was murdered in Tartareu, Spain.
